Crystal Palace Boss Oliver Glasner Provides Matheus Franca Injury Update

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner provides Matheus Franca injury update

The Eagles have been without the Brazilian midfielder since he suffered a hamstring injury in the pre-season clash with Sevilla.

However, Glasner has now revealed that Franca is making good progress and could be back in action soon.

Matheus Franca has been a key player for Crystal Palace since joining the club from Flamengo in January 2023. The Brazilian midfielder has made 14 appearances for the Eagles, scoring twice. However, Franca has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in the pre-season clash with Sevilla.

There were fears that Franca would be out for a lengthy period of time, but Glasner has now revealed that the midfielder is making good progress. The Palace boss said: "Matheus is making good progress. He is back in training and we are hoping to have him back in the team soon."

If Franca is able to return to action soon, it will be a major boost for Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been without a number of key players in recent weeks, including Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and James Tomkins. The return of Franca would provide Glasner with much-needed depth in midfield.

Palace are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to face Fulham in the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether Franca will be fit enough to feature in that match, but his return to training is a positive sign for the Eagles.
