41 Workers Rescued from Silkyara Tunnel Collapse

Uttarakhand Government Releases Statement Confirming Successful Rescue Operation

The Uttarakhand government has announced the successful rescue of all 41 workers who were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel for the past 17 days. The workers were stranded after a portion of the tunnel collapsed on August 30th, 2023.

In a statement, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed relief and gratitude to the rescue teams involved in the operation. He praised their tireless efforts and determination to bring the workers back to safety.

The rescue operation involved a multi-agency effort, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Indian Army, and local authorities. The teams worked around the clock to clear the debris and create access to the trapped workers.

The rescued workers are currently undergoing medical examination and are reported to be in stable condition. They will be provided with necessary support and assistance as they recover from their ordeal.
